The Advantages of Dedicated IP

August 3rd, 2011  in About HostEase, Web Hosting 3 Comments »

Hostease has three choices in purchasing web hosting. They are blog, basic and business. Among them, only those who choose business one can get a free dedicated IP. Maybe there are many people who don’t know about dedicated IP too much, so just let us learn more about it together.

Using a dedicated IP has more advantages than using a shared one. The following are some reasons that can explain it.

1.People can access your site via your dedicated IP, while using shared IP can not achieve this goal. So your site can be accessed in two ways. Shared IP just can open the default page.

2.Having a dedicated IP allows your site to be separated from other sites on the server. If you want a stable service, dedicated IP is a necessity. If you use shared IP, your site will easily be affected when one of the sites on the server has something wrong and leads to the suspension of the shared IP. Or, when share IP is attacked, if we can not be sure which account is attacked, then all of the accounts on the server will be influenced. What is the function of dedicated IP? That is to say, dedicated IP does not have the risk (which) talked above.

3.Furthermore, if you want to use SSL function, a dedicated IP is a must. Only if you have dedicated IP, then you can install SSL certificate. Because SSL certificate can only be installed in a certain IP which excludes shared IP for you can not set up a safe site based on shared IP.

4.Meanwhile, a dedicated IP is also a necessity of using anonymous FTP in Hostease. To have the function of anonymous FTP, you should buy a dedicated IP. Anyway, a dedicated IP is a better choice.

Obviously, there are more than these advantages above. Anyone who uses dedicated IP will benefit from it and will find the good points of using dedicated IP. So, are you ready to have one?

Something about the Mail Policy in Hostease

July 31st, 2011  in About HostEase, Web Hosting 2 Comments »

Nearly no one knows the policy of mail when they purchase hosting or domain in Hostease. Here I will tell you something about it.

Many people are likely to ask whether we support post office or not. I am glad to tell you that we do support it. You can build email account by using your domain name as the mail suffix. What’s more, it is very convenient for you to build email account in your control panel and configure it by yourself. The biggest surprise is that we don’t have any limitations on disk space for basic or business shared hosting, so you can build countless email accounts and allot different amount of quota for your accounts.

There are many advantages for you. Firstly, for shared hosting, every domain name can send 500 outgoing emails per hour, which also applies to mailman. Secondly, mailing list is important enough for one company, which can simplify sending messages to a large group of people. In addition, mailing list is very useful when sending newsletters or other updates to large group of people. In Hostease, different hosting plans have different limitations on the number of mailing lists. For blog hosting, you can build 20 mailing lists, basic hosting have 25 and business hosting have 50. However, it does not mean you can create unlimited email addresses for one mailing list although you can build mailing list. For shared hosting solution, mailing list should be no larger than 5,000 addresses and any mailing list over 900 email address is only allowed to be sent to during off-peak times. You must have confused the meaning of off-peak time, which qualifies as 1AM-8AM Eastern Standard Time Monday – Friday, and all day of Saturday and Sunday.

All these are direct at shared hosting, you can see some limitations. But for dedicated hosting solution, we don’t have any limitations on sending outgoing emails, building mailing list and the addresses that mailing list contains. So please feel free to use it when you purchase dedicated hosting.

According to the Terms of Hostease, any form of spam is strictly prohibited.HostEase.com  takes a zero tolerance policy against the sending of unsolicited e-mail, bulk emailing, Junk E-mail and UCE (collectively, the “spam”).Once we got the complaint from others or we ourselves found subscribers who send out spam to others we will remind you at first and then if you haven’t taken any measures to stop this behavior we will have your account terminated negotiable. So someone who is likely to build e-mail box for your employees should tell them the details just in case.

So have you made up your mind to purchase our hosting?

How to Move a Website Without Downtime

July 18th, 2011  in Website 3 Comments »

Many people don’t satisfy with their hosting providers but have to stay with them; this is simply because they think that moving to a new server is too complicated. They don’t want the down time when they move their websites, reset domain name severs and change email settings. Fortunately, it is possible to move a website without downtime.

Here is step-by-step on how to move your website without downtime.
1.Keep the current hosting account
While you are finding the new web hosting make sure you don’t cancel your current hosting account. If your current hosting provider knows you want to cancel your hosting account, they would terminate your account early. This will cause the downtime.

2.Analysis your website needs and select a new hosting
Select a hosting that can provide what your website needs. Sign up a new hosting account, you should have two hosting accounts at this time.

3.Backup and download all of your files
Backup the entire website .You can use a FTP program or whatever development tools you may be used to download all files. Then upload the entire website to the new hosting account. Keep the directory structure exactly as it is on your previous hosting account. If you have built the site it is most likely that you already have all of these.

4.Update your name severs
You’ll get at least two name severs in the new account information email from your new hosting provider. After moving the entire website to the new hosting account, it’s time to update your domain name servers. Go to domain control panel to change the DNS to the new hosting provider’s.

5.Monitor (for ) the domain name change
Once the DNS has been changed, it usually takes 24 to 48 hours for the entire world to see the change. During this period your DNS is propagating worldwide and your website will be bouncing from the previous host to the new host every other minute randomly. Once the propagation has completed that means you are safely to cancel the previous hosting account.

And there you have done it; you can move your website without downtime.

Problem on WordPress Background Password

June 6th, 2011  in Blog 5 Comments »

My dear fellow, have you ever met such problem when you’re using wordpress: After you enter the username and password, you are brought to the logging page when you click the “Log In” button on the right at the bottom of the page. And you’re sure you have entered the right username and password, so you tried it again and again. Unfortunately, the same thing came up time after time.

Some hostease users reflected this phenomenon to us when they met such problem in the course of using wordpress. Taking a user who is using wordpress 3.1.1 for example, he told us that he was a newbie and met this serious problem when he is using wordpress to build his personal blog. And he has tried to click the “Lost Your Password?” on the logging in page, but it still didn’t work. Finally, he decided to install wordpress again. To his sadness, the same problem still came up after it was installed. And then he came to us.
Now I will share the tips with you all:

This problem was caused by the unique thing called cookie. That is, we should change the directory which is under the control of cookie. You can do it as the following tips:

First, log into your cPanel and find the file named “/wp-includes/pluggable.php”; then please modify the function called “wp_set_auth_cookie” in this file. You can use Ctrl+F to search this function if you’re using windows personal operating system such as XP and etc…

Find the former code:
setcookie($auth_cookie_name, $auth_cookie, $expire, ADMIN_COOKIE_PATH, COOKIE_DOMAIN, $secure, true);
And then change it to:
setcookie($auth_cookie_name, $auth_cookie, $expire, SITECOOKIEPATH, COOKIE_DOMAIN, $secure, true);
Click “Save” button and you’ll find you have solved this problem successfully.

Slow Internet Connection, Why?

April 2nd, 2011  in Website No Comments »

Angry and bored. It is caused by the slow internet connection. Please spare some time on this article and try to analyze the problem.

Here are the most frequent causes for the “why?”
1.DSL circuit frequency interference. If it’s a DSL circuit, interference from other circuit as the cable bundle in the telephone company can cause packet loss, latency and outages. But if the ping?result shows 400ms, you should not be anxious about this.

2.Interference form WiFi radio in the internet Modem/Router. Some internet companies supply modems and routers with built-in WiFi access point capacities. The supplied modems and routers in some internet companies have built-in WiFi access point capacities. The built-in access point can be convenient, but it can play havoc with the modem/router itself. If you incline to be rageful at the bad connection to your site and the WiFi is needed, you’d better install a stand-alone access point.

3.Quality of Service (QoS) Parameters are not Set Appropriately for the Available Internet Speed. When Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is being used as well as other real time data applications, many companies install/program QoS parameters into their Internet routers. One field in the configuration is the amount of available bandwidth. The router must know this in order to know when it is time to employ packet prioritization. It also means that the router will not pass through any bandwidth in this availability setting even if more bandwidth is available.

4.ISP Not Delivering Promised Speed. Unless the Internet connection is a fixed circuit such as a I1, the delivered bandwidth from an ISP can vary throughout the day. Typically, the varied rate is due to congestion or the other factors.Still the rate can frequently be below the expected bandwidth. Speed tests results can frequently be misleading and they measure only what is happening at one moment or at an extended period of time.

5.Virus, Worm or Trojan on a PC. Viruses, worms and Trojans can do more than just slow down a PC, you may sustain a bad connection to all the sites as well as the connection to your own site They can slow down an entire network. Depending on what they are doing, they can be sending out significant network traffic of which it can slow down an internal network and come to the low Internet.

Tips on Getting More Traffic to Your Website

March 9th, 2011  in SEO 23 Comments »

All webmasters would like to get more traffic to their websites. No matter what kind of websites they host, business site or personal blog, traffic can never be enough. A simple reason for desiring more traffic is that we all wish to have more visitors. In this competitive world of network, a lot of websites can be available on internet, how to improve competitive ability is very important, which every webmaster would concern more about. Here’re some tips on getting more traffic. I would like to share them with all of you.

1.Contents on website must be the key of attracting visitors
Although there’re many methods can be available to bring more traffic, I think posting attractive content is more helpful than other methods. As a good site, it must provide useful and attractive information to their visitors. If one site just has some duplicate content, I think no one would want to be back to that site again. Place more original articles on your site and update your site’s content regularly. Because the information on internet changes fast, your site would lose competitiveness without update for some time.

2.Backlinks is another efficient way for website promotion
According to the learning from the internet, we found many professionals recommended backlinks. Is it so useful? Firstly, the definition of backlinks is incoming links which connect to your specific webpage from other website. Be careful when you create backlinks, because just quality backlinks would be benefit for your site, while bad backlinks can’t bring benefit or even damage your website. For example, if you link to gambling site, your site may be banned by search engines when that gambling site is banned.

3.Don’t forget to comment in relevant blogs or forums
I suggest you visit relevant blogs or forums in your spare time. Not only can you learn more about blog building but also you can leave comment in some posts that your are interested in. Blog commenting can always bring more traffic, especially the foregoing several comments. Of course, please don’t leave useless comment, such as “Good tips” or “Thanks for sharing”, because no one would like such comments. I am sure everyone would like professional and useful comments. Many forums permit their clients to have signature with posting comments. You can provide the link to your site in signature, since it can help others to link to your site.

4.Focus on related keywords
Search engine loves keywords. First, make sure your site URL contains some relevant keywords which is often searched in web. You also can use primary keywords in the title and secondary keywords in the body of the post published on your site.

These four tips are simple but really easy to use in handy. The more work you do, the more you will get, so please persist in doing this and no doubt you will be succeed. Maybe you’re not SEO professional, but I think you also can do good job on SEO and make more and more people know your site and love your site.
